    Is it my familiar?

For those of you who don't know what a familiar is....

Although, I'm pretty confident that everyone on this site knows what a familiar is..I felt that I had to explain it anyway...Since ancient times, witches and magicians have worked magic with the aid of Familiars, or helpful spirits. Familiars may take the form of a beloved pet, a totem animal, or even a helpful nonphysical entity. There are three types of Familiars: physical, astral, and spiritual. Familiars are sort of like a magickal partner..who can also aid you in your spellwork.

    Ok so here's the story....

I moved to North Carolina with my husband, because he was stationed in the military. I believe it was about a couple days or so after I moved into our new home...I started to see this white cat. Well, this cat wouldn't go near anyone, and I have no earthly clue where he comes from. Most of the time he showed up at night. He's so white that he shows up in the night like a ghost. He would mostly walk up to me - about 2 feet away - meow a couple of times...and when I offered to pet him..he runs off. During this time that I was seeing him - I was 9 months pregnant with my son, and was taking my time with my dedication to the craft. I asked my neighbor...and she said that the cat would never come around her house...that she knew of. He would leave me "presents" too. I would open the door to sometimes find field mice at my doorstep...or other little critters and such. It was nice to know that an animal cared enough to leave such "trinkets" at my door. I only wonder if maybe...just maybe...he was my guide?

If anyone has any ideas, please...don't hesitate to comment or email me!

How sweet. Whatever it is, he's gorgeous! I'd wait it out a little longer, perhaps leave him a little gift in exchange for the ones he left you - a saucer of milk perhaps. See what happens.

maybe he feels youre going to need him, or your son is. maybe hes wondered around without a companion and feels like you or your son are to be his next companion. my thought is that hes meant for your child since he wont let you pet him, and the "trinkets" are his offerings of food to him. when i was a kid my mom had stray animals come up to us all the time, she never let me touch them cause every time i did they became our pet. so maybe its the same thing. hes your sons first friend or maybe even his guide.
